In another year that has seen climate records broken across the world, there have been accelerating environmental impacts made more likely by climate change and sport has been simultaneously affected and called out for the emissions it generates.

Sport isn't immune to the effects of climate change and just last month tennis player Daniil Medvedev said "one player is going to die" as he struggled in the New York heat and humidity at the US Open.

It is important to give audiences and fans an insight into what the impacts are, but also the positive changes that can and are being made and in its Green Sport Awards, ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Sport celebrates the good news - the athletes, former athletes and organisations working hard to enact and inspire change.

Now into its second year, the ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Green Sport Awards were created in 2022 as a way to celebrate individuals and organisations across the world of sport who are proactively trying to reduce their own impact on the planet, help others reduce theirs and bring more awareness and education around the issue of climate change.

    • Evergreen Athlete 2023
