Charley Hull sees ban overturned

Teenager Charley Hull has been selected for the Curtis Cup in June after the Ladies Golf Union overturned her ban.

The 16-year-old was originally excluded from the team when she decided to miss last week's trial in Nairn.

Hull withdrew from the event after she received an invitation to play at the Kraft Nabisco Championship, the first LPGA Tour major of the season.

The LGU selection panel has decided it is no longer a requirement for Hull to have attended the trial.

Hull, who is seventh in the amateur world rankings, is one of only five amateurs who have been invited to compete in California after she won the Harder Hall Invitational on Florida's Orange Blossom Tour.

The Curtis Cup is a Ryder Cup-style event played every two years between female amateur players from the United States and the British Isles.

Great Britain and Ireland have lost the last seven tournaments and will be aiming for their first triumph since 1996 at the Nairn Golf Club in Scotland between 8-10 June.
