Chesterfield boss Paul Cook has signed a contract extension.

The 57-year-old returned to the Derbyshire side for a second spell in February 2022.

They lost out in the National League promotion final to Notts County in 2022-23 but won the title last season to secure a return to the EFL after six seasons away.

Cook's coaching staff, including former England international Kieron Dyer, have also extended their deals although the club have not stated the length of their new contracts.

“We are all delighted to have signed contract extensions,"

“Growth at a football club is never as easy as some people think, but we will hopefully keep progressing and taking the club forward."

The Spireites have made a solid start to the League Two season and are eighth after 12 games.

Cook first took over Chesterfield in October 2012 and led them to promotion to League One before spells at Portsmouth and Wigan Athletic, winning promotion with both.

He returned to the Spireites after a brief spell at then-third tier side Ipswich Town.
