Torquay United manager Paul Wotton says his team need to improve after their 1-1 draw with Maidstone United in National League South.

Charlie Seaman put the Stones in the lead six minutes before half-time with a good strike.

Jay Foulston ensured a share of the spoils when he headed in Omar Mussa's free-kick with four minutes to go.

The point moves the Gulls up to fourth in the table, four points off leaders Weston-super-Mare and one behind both Truro City and Eastbourne Borough, in second third places respectively.

"We've got to be better," Wotton said after the game.

"I'm really happy we didn't lose but even at the end there we score and then we go backwards.

"I've had a good chat in there - there's things that I expect from a team that I'm not sure I saw tonight.

"It's a point gained definitely, Maidstone are a good team. I just thought we were off it."
