Paul Wotton has praised the resilience of his side as they came back to win 3-2 at 10-men Chesham United in National League South.

Brad Ash scored in the sixth minute of second-half stoppage time to secure a win that put the Gulls level on points with leaders Slough Town after four matches.

"I've got to be brutally honest, I probably would've taken 2-2, but we kept going right to the end," Wotton told 成人快手 Radio Devon.

"I think scoring the first goal in a game of football is really important, you very rarely lose from that situation, so to come back from 1-0 down and 2-1 down to win away from home I think is a good achievement."

Joe Grant gave the hosts a 35th-minute lead before Jack Cawley was sent off for a deliberate handball in the penalty area just before half-time. Cody Cooke converted from 12 yards to level the score.

Grant put Chesham in front again 20 minutes after the break, but Dan Hayfield equalised with 20 minutes left before Ash converted Dean Moxey's cross deep into added time.

The win was Torquay's third in succession and came after a 1-0 win over Dorking Wanderers on Saturday.

"[The handball] was a big, big turning point in the game, but having said that we go and concede the second goal, which was scandalous really from us," Wotton added.

"People stopped doing their jobs, I think they get complacent when you're playing against 10 men, but your concentration levels have to be even higher.

"But we reacted to that setback very well. I thought Dan Hayfield's was a great strike and then the goal at the end was really well worked, it was brilliant ball in from Dean and a really good run from Brad.

"We're thrilled with three points, we're thrilled with the weekend.

"Overall, we know we've got to be better, but you'd rather play poorly and get three points than play well and no win, so it's not bad habit to score in the last minute."
