West Brom midfielder Alex Mowatt has signed a new two-year contract with the Championship club.

The 29-year-old was offered a new deal in May, with his previous contract running out in June.

Mowatt's new deal includes an appearance-related clause which will trigger a further 12-month extension.

He has scored six goals in 84 appearances across all competitions for West Brom since joining from Barnsley in the summer of 2021.

More than half those appearances came last season on his return to The Hawthorns after spending the 2022-23 season on loan with Championship rivals Middlesbrough.

"I'm delighted to be staying and my mind was made up as soon as last season had finished," Mowatt told

"It鈥檚 been a long wait but I鈥檓 happy to get it done because I love it here."

Meanwhile, defender Kyle Bartley has extended his stay to a seventh year at the club after signing a new one-year contract.

The deal includes a clause which will see Bartley given another one-year contract next summer if he makes a certain number of appearances this season.

The 33-year-old has made 201 appearances for Albion, 38 of which were in last season's Championship.

Goalkeeper Ted Cann, 23, who is yet to make a senior appearance for the Baggies, has signed a one-year contract as well.

The club also has a further 12-month option on the former Liverpool academy player's contact.
