Cheltenham midfielder Harry Pell will miss most of the 2024-25 season after rupturing his anterior cruciate ligament.

The 32-year-old came off during the Robins' pre-season game with Northampton Town last Saturday and will undergo surgery on the injury.

Pell re-signed for Cheltenham this summer having previously made more than 130 appearances during 2015-2018 and has been named club captain for the upcoming campaign.

"It's awful news for us, he'll be a massive miss both on and off the pitch and for something so innocuous, I really feel for him," manager Michael Flynn said.

"He's given everything this pre-season, now we need to make sure we are there for him and give him all the support he needs."
