Sutton United manager Steve Morison says their FA Cup draw against League One leaders Birmingham City has "sparked life" into the National League side.

Sutton booked their place in the first round with a 3-1 win over seventh-tier Chertsey Town but will face a much bigger challenge when they host Blues in November.

Birmingham are top of the League One table, having only lost one league game so far this season, but - despite their pedigree - it was the match-up Morison was hoping for.

"When you got down to the last four, you see your name come out and you're just like Birmingham, Birmingham, Birmingham," Morison told 成人快手 Radio London.

"We got the biggest draw I think, I'm going to have 20 fit players to pick from that day that's for certain."

With Birmingham's status and their high profile American owners, including American Football legend Tom Brady, the tie is likely to generate a large amount of public interest as well as being one to earmark for potential TV coverage.

"The FA cup - we talk about the magic of it," Morison added.

"All of the investors, all of the shareholders, all of the staff have been messaging straight away - already it's sparked life."

Morison will be looking to draw on Sutton's previous successes in the FA Cup as inspiration, including beating Leeds United to reach the fifth round in 2017.

"You want to test yourself against better all the time," Morison said.

"You go in there with underdog mentality but you have to be professional, do your jobs right, be diligent.

"It's the FA Cup, you never know what could happen."
