Swansea City have signed defender Cyrus Christie on a deal until the end of the season.

The 32-year-old, who has been without a club since leaving Hull City at the end of last season, has been training with Swansea since early October.

Head coach Luke Williams regards the versatile Christie as someone who can cover any position across his defence.

Christie returns for a second spell at Swansea having previously played for the club on loan.

Christie played 23 Swansea games 鈥 and scored three goals 鈥 in the second half of 2021-22 after signing on loan from Fulham.

Then Swansea boss Russell Martin was interested in signing the Republic of Ireland international on a permanent deal, but Christie instead joined Hull City.

"He is experienced at the level. He is a powerful athlete he can defend and he can attack, so I am really happy," Williams said.

"We struggle a little bit with Championship experience and he gives us a physicality that we don鈥檛 have a huge amount of without the likes of Ben Cabango and Harry Darling."
