Bristol Rovers will continuously be "up and down" said manager Matt Taylor but are moving in the right direction, after their 1-0 win against Shrewsbury.

Rovers have been inconsistent this season under Taylor but have now won three of their last four league matches.

Tuesday's win puts them in 15th place in the table although only three points behind Huddersfield in fifth.

"This group will be continuously up and down and I have to acknowledge that and make the people around the club understand that, but they're really trying," Taylor told 成人快手 Radio Bristol.

"The feel of this football club is an interesting one and I'm constantly learning about expectations, realistic expectations, where the players expect to be, fans expect to be, the whole club."

Taylor has been under pressure in recent months from fans, with the club winning just five matches in the league so far this season.

He said the players were "not where they needed to be" after a chastening 4-0 defeat by Swindon in the EFL Trophy two weeks ago but that the club were now "moving in the right direction".

Taylor also pointed to the likes of Gatlin O'Donkor who is soon to return from injury.

"Gats is only a couple of weeks away. We'll be adding to this team in the next couple of weeks," Taylor said.

"We go to Reading on the back of this result and we need another result to make it a positive week."
