Reading boss Ruben Selles is hoping the club's takeover is "coming to a conclusion" as the Royals prepare for their upcoming season in League One.

成人快手 Radio Berkshire understands that former Wycombe owner Rob Couhig is the front runner to buy them, having visited the training ground and met the players and staff.

"I always refer to the club statements but I think the situation is coming to a conclusion," Selles told 成人快手 Radio Berkshire.

"The sooner it is done the better because then we can have clarity not only on the pitch but as a club all together.

"Hopefully when it comes, the takeover can bring more calmness and support of the things we do."

The Royals are yet to recruit any new players this window due to a spending embargo they have been put under by the EFL.

The club could bring in out of contract players or loans whilst under the embargo but that would be unlikely to happen until the changing of owners has been completed.

"It reinforces the idea that we want to develop our own players," Selles added.

"What we need to do now is not think about what we can鈥檛 have but think about what we have in the building and try to get the very best out of them as we did last year.

"Hopefully we will get two or three of the youngsters making the level needed and supporting us in the season."

Once the takeover from Dai Yongge is completed, the Reading boss is hoping it will open the opportunity to add to the squad.

"Hopefully it can bring the chance for us to get some players," Selles said.

"We will welcome that and try to get the very best that we can.

"I鈥檓 confident with where we are though we can continue to build that relationship with the fans through the football we play and win some football matches."

Reading get their season under way on 10 August when they travel to Birmingham City.
