Swansea City have signed Burnley goalkeeper Lawrence Vigouroux for an undisclosed fee.

Vigouroux, 30, has agreed a two-year deal at the Swansea.com Stadium with the option of a further 12 months.

Swansea had been chasing a new keeper having seen Carl Rushworth return to Brighton following his successful loan spell in Wales during the 2023-24 season.

Vigouroux was a first-team regular at Swindon Town during Swansea head coach Luke Williams' time in charge of the Robins.

The London-born player joined the Clarets from Leyton Orient last summer, but did not feature for the Turf Moor club as they were relegated from the Premier League in 2023-24.

"I worked with Lawrence when he was a young keeper, he has always been so brave with the ball," Williams said.

"For such a young goalkeeper to be prepared to start the build-up was incredible. Now he is an experienced keeper and he has always been a great shot stopper, and he has continued to improve throughout his career, so I am excited to work with him again.

"This is the opportunity he has been craving, he has a chance to establish himself as a Championship number one and this is the place for him to do it."

Vigouroux started his career with Brentford and Tottenham Hotspur and also had spells with Hyde, Liverpool, Waterford and Chilean club Everton de Vina del Mar.

He won Orient's player of the year award three seasons running and was named in the 2022-23 League Two team of the season.

Vigouroux will compete with Andy Fisher for the number one spot at Swansea, who had previously been keen to re-sign Rushworth on a second loan deal.

Vigouroux becomes Swansea's third summer signing after the arrivals of Portuguese midfielder Gon莽alo Franco from Moreirense and versatile forward Eom Ji-Sung from Gwangju FC.

In addition to a goalkeeper, the Welsh club are also keen to add at least one striker to their ranks during the current window, along with a central defender and at least one wide player.
