Injured Wycombe Wanderers striker Brandon Hanlan has had his contract extended beyond the end of the season.

The 26-year-old is likely to miss the remainder of the current League One campaign with a knee problem.

Hanlan was injured in the 1-0 defeat by Stevenage which caused November's game to be halted for 14 minutes.

"We think the world of Brandon and we're determined to make sure he comes back stronger than ever before," Wycombe manager Matt Bloomfield said.

Hanlan, who started his career at Charlton, has scored three goals in his 19 appearances for Wycombe this season.

"It's well documented that we turned down interest in him in the summer and he was just hitting top form when this injury was inflicted on him," Bloomfield continued.

"He remains a key part of our plans going forward and this new contract gives security both to him and to the club so that we can work towards him getting back to fitness and leading the attack again for us next season."
