Head coach Michael Duff says he can only use Yannick Bolasie from the bench as the veteran forward builds fitness following his move to Swansea City.

Bolasie signed a two-month deal with the Championship club earlier this week.

The 34-year-old made his Swansea debut as a 79th-minute substitute during Wednesday's 3-1 defeat at Leeds United.

"He showed a little cameo of where he is at and that's what it will have to be at the minute," said Duff.

Bolasie had been a free agent after leaving Turkish side Caykur Rizespor at the end of last season.

The former Crystal Palace, Everton and Aston Villa player joined Swansea for training last week and did enough to convince the Welsh side - who are short of forward options - he was worthy of an initial short-term contract.

"Yannick hasn't played since May," added Duff.

"He has done a bit of training, a week's training with us, so we'll integrate him and integrate him.

"He can help off the pitch as well."

Duff said Bolasie "looks like he's a fans' favourite already" following his appearance at Leeds.

"I have just found out how much it costs to come to a game [at Leeds] so the noise they made - I think there were 500 of them - was brilliant," he added.

"The ones that came, I think they'll see it was a decent performance."

The Leeds loss was Swansea's fourth in their last seven matches, a run in which their solitary win came at Blackburn Rovers on 28 October.

Duff's side are 18th in the Championship, seven points clear of the relegation zone and 10 short of the top six, going into Saturday's home game with Huddersfield Town.

They are waiting to discover the extent of Harrison Ashby's hamstring injury after the on-loan Newcastle defender came off against Hull City last Saturday.
