Players and staff clashed during a feisty end to Swansea's 4-2 win over Preston

Swansea City and Preston North End have been fined by the Football Association [FA] following their Championship game on 19 April.

A mass scuffle broke out at the end of Swansea's 4-2 home win, with Preston boss Ryan Lowe and Swansea midfielder Joe Allen sent off in the 90th minute.

Both clubs were charged with failing to control players and staff, with Swansea fined 拢15,000 and Preston 拢10,000

Lowe has been given a three-match touchline ban and fined 拢10,000.

Additionally, sports therapist Colin Ashcroft has been handed a one-match stadium ban and fined 拢250 after he and Lowe were charged with alleged improper and/or violent behaviour.

An FA statement read: "Swansea City AFC and Preston North End FC have been fined 拢15,000 and 拢10,000 respectively following a mass confrontation that occurred during their EFL Championship fixture on Wednesday, 19 April.

"Both clubs admitted that they failed to ensure their players and/or bench occupants conducted themselves in an orderly fashion and/or refrained from provocative and/or violent behaviour in the 89th minute."

Allen was handed an automatic three-match ban, while Preston's Bambo Diaby received a four-match suspension despite not being sanctioned during the game.
