Newport County had won 4-0 at Harrogate in August under former manager James Rowberry.

Harrogate ensured League Two safety with victory at Newport County.

Omar Bogle fired home from Will Evans' cross for his fourth goal in four home games to give County the lead.

Harrogate responded and Sam Folarin and George Thomson's goals inside the opening 10 minutes put them in control.

Bogle's second of the game brought Newport level and a point would have been enough for Harrogate but Luke Armstrong's late goal secured all three.

Simon Weaver's side are now 20th in the table and nine points clear of the bottom two while Newport are 14th with two games of the season remaining.

Newport County assistant manager Joe Dunne said:

"Incredibly disappointed. It's obviously been something that we've been desperate to fix since we came in and obviously when it happens in an y game but especially after the good result on Saturday.

"We lost concentration both times. We'd got ourselves in a great position at the beginning of the game and then getting ourselves back in the game.

"Maybe that's tiredness - we've pushed them quite hard since we've come in and we're close to the end but we've got to keep going until the end. We're desperately disappointed as a team."
