Burton Albion 1-1 Bolton Wanderers

Bolton dropped points in the race for the League One play-offs as they were held to a draw at Burton.

Former Burton striker Victor Adeboyejo's third goal for his new club put the visitors ahead early on but substitute Josh Walker earned a point for the Brewers.

The result saw Bolton drop to sixth, with just goal difference keeping them ahead of seventh-placed Derby.

Adeboyejo marked his return to the club where he scored 13 goals in the first half of the season with a somewhat fortuitous effort in the fifth minute.

Aaron Morley's 25-yard effort clipped the heel of the striker and wrong-footed Craig MacGillivray before rolling into the net.

MacGillivray did well to save efforts from Gethin Jones and Dion Charles as Wanderers looked to consolidate their early lead.

Albion struggled to cut open a makeshift Trotters back-line but Dale Taylor almost equalised on the stroke of half-time, stretching to head Mark Helm's cross inches wide.

Charlie Kirk failed to capitalise on a one-on-one with Bolton goalkeeper James Trafford five minutes into the second half.

But Walker equalised less than a minute after arriving on the pitch, netting in the 59th minute after Trafford had pushed away Helm's stinging shot and blocked Walker's first attempt.

George Thomason fired over from close range before Burton defender Zac Ashworth denied Conor Bradley on the line but Bolton could not find a winner.
