Inverness pulled back an equaliser through a deflected effort from Cameron Harper

Dundee lost ground on Queen's Park at the top of the Scottish Championship table after drawing at home with Inverness Caledonian Thistle.

Gary Bowyer's side had a half-time lead courtesy of Zach Robinson's penalty after the striker was fouled in the area by Danny Devine.

Visiting manager Billy Dodds was visibly unhappy with the decision, but his team responded in fortunate circumstances when Cameron Harper's effort took a wicked deflection off Dundee captain Ryan Sweeney.

The hosts probed for a winner, with Robinson and Lyall Cameron seeing headers bounce off the crossbar late on.

But Inverness - who remain seventh - held on, meaning Dundee are now four points behind leaders Queen's.

Dundee manager Gary Bowyer: "I'm frustrated, we played very well. I was pleased we actually scored a penalty for a change!

"How we played and how we performed means there are a lot of positives to take from today. We'll keep smiling, keep working and keep going."

Inverness Caley Thistle manager Billy Dodds: "We got a wee bit of luck for the first time this season with the goal.

"This is a team that have been decimated with injuries throughout the season, so sometimes you just need to calm down, look at the situation and you'll find this isn't a bad team."
