Ayr United moved top of the Scottish Championship after maintaining their unbeaten start with a deserved victory over Cove Rangers.
Dipo Akinyemi hit the bar from 20 yards and Mark McKenzie twice came close before the breakthrough arrived just shy of the hour following Mark Reynolds' handball.

Jamie Masson replied with a 92nd-minute penalty for the hosts.
While Ayr move a point clear at the summit, Cove are just a point off the bottom after a third straight defeat.
