Raith Rovers shocked Scottish Championship leaders Hearts at Tynecastle by administering their second defeat in three league games.

Playing in their first match of the year after a Covid-19 outbreak, Raith led thanks to Gozie Ugwu's debut goal.

Regan Hendry then had a penalty saved by Craig Gordon before Manny Duku converted from the spot after the break to double the advantage.

Reghan Tumilty added a third before Liam Boyce's consolation brace.

It was Raith's first win at Tynecastle since December 1993 - an especially remarkable achievement given they had trained just once since the club was effectively closed down to combat a rash of Covid cases.

Former Hearts goalkeeper Jamie MacDonald played his part with stunning stops from Steven Naismith and Stephen Kingsley, before another astonishing stop denied Naismith a leveller in stoppage-time.

Robbie Neilson was shown a red card at full time after protesting to referee John Beaton but, despite this setback, his side remain six points clear at the top of the division.

The sides meet again in a rearranged fixture on Tuesday in Kirkcaldy (19:45 GMT).
