FA Cup: Stockport County 3-2 Yeovil Town (aet) highlights

Stockport County needed extra time to get past National League strugglers Yeovil Town in the FA Cup second round.

The visitors took an early lead when Matthew Warburton's low strike from 25 yards out took a slight deflection on its way in, before John Rooney levelled for the Hatters from the penalty spot after Charlie Lee had fouled Ryan Croasdale.

Luke Wilkinson headed home to put the Glovers back in front only for Ash Palmer to scramble home another leveller before Hatters keeper Ben Hinchliffe made a wonderful save to deny Wilkinson's penalty and send the tie to extra time.

Connor Jennings gave Stockport the lead in the first half of extra time with a good header from Jamie Stott's centre.

Victory for Jim Gannon's men sees them in the hat for the third round of the competition for the first time since 2006-07.

Yeovil, who are winless after 13 matches of the National League season, gave a good account of themselves and will be left to rue Wilkinson's saved penalty as they now look to get their season going and avoid relegation.
