A goal either side of half-time gave Inverness Caledonian Thistle victory over second-placed Raith Rovers in the Scottish Championship.

Previously unbeaten Raith could have gone top with victory but fell behind to James Keatings' first-half strike.

And Scott Allardice doubled the Highlanders' advantage after the break.

The match was played in front of 300 fans - the first game in the Championship to have supporters in attendance this season.

Inverness play in a tier 1 area, which under the Scottish government's Covid-19 measures means stadia there can accommodate a limited number of spectators.

John Robertson's side ended Saturday fifth, a point behind Ayr United and three points off Raith.

Inverness CT manager John Robertson: "Everything was great today. It was great to have fans back. Credit to both sets of player, they put on a very good show for them. It was a great game of football between two good teams.

"We took our chances well. We played really well but we had to because Raith Rovers are a very, very good side. It was a very, very good performance."

Raith Rovers assistant manager Paul Smith: "We've had a fantastic start to the season but today we weren't quite at it. I thought Inverness deserved to win the game over 90 minutes.

"Jamie MacDonald had a couple of fantastic saves to keep us in the game. We had a lot of ball in the first half but our final ball wasn't good enough to create many chances."
