Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp says his side have lost their way after extending their Premier League winless run to four games.

The 1-1 draw with Stoke on Wednesday saw Spurs slip behind north London rivals Arsenal to fourth in the table.

"We just seem to have lost our way, we're not playing with the same fluency," said Redknapp.

"It's difficult to put your finger on, but we have to pick ourselves up for Chelsea [on Saturday]."

On 1 February, Spurs led their neighbours by 12 points but, after Arsenal's win at Everton, Tottenham trail Arsene Wenger's side by a point.

Their bad run began with a 5-2 loss at Arsenal, which was followed with defeats by Manchester United and Everton.

Redknapp's side then needed Rafael van der Vaart's stoppage-time header to salvage a point against Stoke.

"The teams we've played are not teams you can blow away," added the Spurs boss.

"It was difficult tonight, and I just feel like we panicked a bit. We stopped playing, stopped passing, stopped probing, when we needed to be patient.

"If you look the best sides, sides like Barcelona, they don't suddenly start lumping it with five minutes to go, they play until they get an opening and we went away from that.

"There's still nine games to go and still so much to play for. There will be more twists and turns with us, Arsenal and Chelsea."

Van der Vaart's late goal at White Hart Lane cancelled out Cameron Jerome's opening goal and denied Stoke their first-ever league double over Tottenham.

"We're disappointed," said Stoke manager Tony Pulis. "Tottenham created good chances, but I thought we were fantastic.

"After coming off a tough FA Cup quarter-final against Liverpool, it's tribute to our players that they can put in the effort like this.

"With a couple of minutes to go, you think the gods are with you and you might get a result.

"We were concerned about the effect the Liverpool game would have on us, so for the lads to come here and put that effort in is very, very good."
