Storey storms to second cycling gold

Sarah Storey added a second London Paralympics track cycling title with gold in the C4-5 500m individual time trial.

The 34-year-old Briton, who won gold in the individual pursuit, took the crown in a time of 36.997 seconds.

The USA's Jennifer Schuble claimed silver and China's Jianping Ruan took the bronze.

Storey will now concentrate her efforts on the road as she aims to go for gold in the time trial and road race.

"Anything can happen but you've just got to get the job done," said Storey.

"If you move everyone cheers, it's incredible. You feel like your own family has grown by about 6,000 people."

Great Britain's Jon-Allan Butterworth added a second Paralympics silver, in the men's 4,000m individual C5 pursuit final.

Butterworth, 26, who lost his left arm in 2007 during a rocket attack in Iraq, established more than a second's lead over Michael Gallagher after 2,000m.

But the Australian, who earlier smashed Butterworth's world record, grabbed the advantage at the 3,000m mark as the Briton tired.

Meanwhile, team-mate Jody Cundy released his frustrations on the track to take bronze in the men's individual C4 pursuit.

The 33-year-old was disqualified from the C4-5 time trial on Friday after a failed attempt to start the race, but had no such problems on Saturday as he picked off his rival Diego German Duenas Gomez of Colombia in little time.

Earlier in the day, Storey's husband Barney won tandem gold with Neil Fachie.
