That's about it for today - it's been another day filled with runs and no shortage of drama.

A couple of the matches look like petering out towards draws but, in the main, there will be plenty of teams chasing their first County Championship victories of the season on Monday.

So it'll be well worth joining us again for coverage of day four, starting at 10:45 BST on the ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Sport website and app.

  3. Close of play in Cardiffpublished at 18:56 British Summer Time 14 April

    Glamorgan v Derbyshire 40-1 (target 401)

That's stumps at Sophia Gardens and all our games are done for the day!

It'll be hard graft for Glamorgan to take another nine wickets amid the showers tomorrow, but they're still favourites for victory.

  4. 'Essex have bossed day three'published at 18:47 British Summer Time 14 April

    Close, day three: Essex 530-7 dec & 257-4 v Kent 413

    Matt Cole
    ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Radio Kent

Really hard yards for Kent out there but the day finishes with an absolute flourish.

Two sixes from Michael Pepper and Jordan Cox has himself a century - 116 against his old side.

Essex have a commanding lead already and they may decide to stick on that and decide to put Kent in tomorrow.

Whatever happens, they have bossed day three here at Chelmsford.

  5. Close of play at Chelmsfordpublished at 18:44 British Summer Time 14 April

    Essex 530-7 dec & 257-4 v Kent 413

Michael Pepper gets in on the act, clubbing Matt Parkinson for consecutive sixes with the final two balls of the day.

The Essex batting pair have been having a field day, conversely, Kent's bowlers have had a day to quickly forget.

Jordan Cox ends the day on 116 not out and Pepper is unbeaten on 34.

Essex have a big lead of 374.

  6. 'Well played Jordan Cox'published at 18:41 British Summer Time 14 April

    Essex 530-7 dec & 239-4 v Kent 413

    Don Topley
    ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Essex

Well played Jordan Cox, that's 100 for him in 85 balls and he collects his century for Essex with a six over square leg.

  7. Postpublished at 18:39 British Summer Time 14 April

    Essex 530-7 dec & 239-4 v Kent 413

Nathan Gilchrist is not enjoying bowling to Jordan Cox.

He goes for 6-4-6 in the last three balls of that over.

Great hitting but horrible for the bowler.

  8. 'This game has come to life a little bit'published at 18:38 British Summer Time 14 April

    Close, day three: Hampshire 367 & 39-2 v Lancashire 484 - Hampshire trail by 78

    Kevan James
    ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Radio Solent commentator

This game has come to life a little bit, thankfully.

At the end of the day, county cricket needs to be entertaining as much as anything else.

I think we've seen a day where despite one or two setbacks, Lancashire have got themselves into a good position. They got the two early wickets, which is what any team in their situation will have wanted.

Still a lot of work to do tomorrow and Hampshire will know that.

  9. 100 for Jordan Coxpublished at 18:36 British Summer Time 14 April

    Essex 530-7 dec & 229-4 v Kent 413

    What an innings!

Fitting that Jordan Cox passes 100 with a massive six over square leg.

It's over the stands and out of the ground I think!

  10. Close of play in Bristolpublished at 18:34 British Summer Time 14 April

    Gloucs 97-4 (target 498) v Yorkshire

No more drama in the final over of the day bowled by Dan Moriarty.

But what a day for Yorkshire who will hope the showers stay away on Monday so they can take the final six wickets needed for victory.

  11. wicket

WICKET: Shaw lbw b Fisher 0published at 18:30 British Summer Time 14 April

    Gloucs 94-4 (target 498) v Yorkshire

    Yorkshire are BIG favourites now.

Nightwatchman Josh Shaw plays around a straight one from paceman Matt Fisher and caught plumb in front.

One over to go tonight... to be bowled by Dan Moriarty.

  12. 'It's been a good day in the end'published at 18:29 British Summer Time 14 April

    Close, day three: Warwickshire 698-3 dec v Durham 517 & 12-2 (f-o) - Durham trail by 169

    Clive Eakin
    ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ CWR Sport

It's been a good day in the end, we've had lots of runs scored.

It'll be worth being back tomorrow, as it turns out.

  13. Postpublished at 18:29 British Summer Time 14 April

    Essex 530-7 dec & 211-4 v Kent 413

Jordan Cox fancies getting his century in the time we have left, he really does.

Two big sixes in the space of three balls moves him to 90 off 79.

    Three overs left.

  14. Close at Utilita Bowlpublished at 18:26 British Summer Time 14 April

    Hampshire 367 & 39-2 v Lancashire 484 - Hampshire trail by 78

Nick Gubbins and nightwatchman Kyle Abbott hold on until the close, but Hampshire are behind the eight ball going into the final day against Lancashire.

Keaton Jennings' 172 and 99 from George Bell earned Lancashire a 117-run lead at the end of their first innings.

Will Williams then made a couple of breakthroughs with the new ball to leave Hampshire two wickets down at the end of day three.

The spin of Nathan Lyon will surely be a key factor on day four.

  15. Postpublished at 18:24 British Summer Time 14 April

    Essex 530-7 dec & 187-4 v Kent 413

Essex's lead clicks over the 300 mark.

Jordan Cox's 73 has really helped with that it has to be said.

Michael Pepper has sprinkled a few boundaries into the mix since joining the action too.

    We have four overs left.

  16. Close at Edgbastonpublished at 18:23 British Summer Time 14 April

    Warwickshire 698-3 dec v Durham 517 & 12-2 (f-o) - Durham trail by 169

A strange old day at Edgbaston, where Warwickshire are still decently placed to beat Durham.

Strange, as Durham have on several occasions looked like they were nullifying any hopes of a Warwickshire win, but the Bears have kept chipping away and chipping away to keep those hopes alive.

And they are very much alive at the close on day three.

The visitors lost both openers in the 10 overs bowled before the close, so it's still all to play for on day four.

  17. 'Smith grabbed the game by the scruff of the neck'published at 18:22 British Summer Time 14 April

    Close, day three: Notts 399 & 151-7 v Worcs 355 - Notts lead by 195

    Jim Dale
    ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Hereford and Worcester

It's been all about the last 15 overs, Nathan Smith grabbing the game by the scruff of the neck and saying "you know what, we fancy a taste of this".

Excellent by Worcestershire in the field, it was hard going early on but it was a fabulous spell by the New Zealand overseas all-rounder - four wickets without a run conceded against his name.

The way things are right now, Worcestershire will be absolutely delighted and they've dragged themselves right back into this.

  18. wicket

WICKET: Hammond c Brook b Moriarty 35published at 18:20 British Summer Time 14 April

    Gloucs 93-3 (target 498) v Yorkshire

HUGE wicket late in the day for Yorkshire.

It's a really poor shot from Miles Hammond as he loops Dan Moriarty straight to Harry Brook at mid-on with only a couple of overs left.

  19. 'Somerset live to fight another day'published at 18:17 British Summer Time 14 April

    Close, day three: Surrey 428 v Somerset 285 & 201-6

    Anthony Gibson
    ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Radio Somerset

Somerset live to fight another day and it's another day on which rain is forecast.

So who knows, they may yet deny this very powerful Surrey side, who have played very good cricket, a win.

  20. 18 off Root's overpublished at 18:16 British Summer Time 14 April

    Gloucs 89-2 (target 498) v Yorkshire

Bosh, bosh, bosh - Miles Hammond hits Joe Root for three consecutive fours and then a single to move to 31 off 20 balls.

Ollie Price finishes the over with another boundary to go to 40.

It's a positive end to day three for the hosts... three more overs to see out.
