Paul Hutchison has been appointed as Jersey's director of cricket on a permanent basis.

The 47-year-old former Yorkshire, Sussex and Middlesex seam bowler was appointed on an interim basis in March after Neil MacRae left the role.

Under Hutchison's leadership, Jersey's men progressed to the final round of qualifying for the 2026 T20 World Cup and are top of ICC Challenge League B.

"It's nice that, after an initial period, that my bosses have seen the work that I'm doing and they've decided 'this is the right man for the role'," Hutchison told 成人快手 Sport.

He also oversee all women's and age group cricket for the island along with his men's head coach role.

Hutchison says he his focused on continuing the international success of all the island's sides as they look to climb the ICC rankings.

"We've got two big men's tournaments next year, with the T20 [World Cup] and the 50 overs [ICC Champions Trophy], and we'll be pushing very hard to try to qualify in both.

"That leads to bigger and better things for everyone involved in Jersey cricket.

"The girls next year have their own ICC tournament which we'll be pushing very hard for them to get some experience before that and then hopefully have a decent campaign.

"The under-19's have a World Cup qualifying campaign themselves, so there's plenty going on over the 2025 season."
