Jersey suffered a second successive loss to Zimbabwe A as they went down by seven wickets in Leeds.

Having won the toss and elected to bat first in the 45-over match, Jersey were bowled out for 213 off 42.3 overs as Zak Tribe hit 90.

In reply, Zimbabwe A eased to 215-3 off 29 overs as opener Tadiwanashe Marumani top scored with 82.

The defeat came a day after Jersey lost a 50-over game to the Zimbabweans by 24 runs.

The matches were Jersey's first longer-format games of the summer having reached the next round of qualifying for the 2026 T20 World Cup last month.

As on Thursday, Jersey again made a poor start and were 35-3 off 9.1 overs as Harrison Carlyon, Patrick Gouge and Jonty Jenner all fell victim to Mgcini Dube's bowling.

But Tribe - who hit 58 a day earlier - steadied the ship as he and Dominic Blampied shared a fourth-wicket partnership of 104 before Blampied was caught for 38 to leave Jersey on 139-4.

Tribe hit two sixes and nine fours in his 100-ball 90 before he was caught to leave Jersey on 164-5 off 32.5 overs.

Ben Ward hit 32 not out while Jake Dunford scored 21 off 20 balls, but when he was dismissed by Tinaishe Muchawaya on 178-6 Jersey struggled.

Muchawaya collected the final three Jersey wickets to end with figures of 4-33 while Dube took 4-14 as the islanders were bowled out for 213.

In reply, Jersey's bowlers struggled to get to grips with Zimbabwe's batters as Marumani hit five sixes and eight fours in his 61-ball knock of 82.

Dion Myers scored 44 while Wesley Madhevere (25 not out) and Brian Bennett (29 not out) guided Zimbabwe home.
