T20 Blast, Worcestershire Rapids v Glamorgan

Worcestershire 190-3 (20 overs): Rutherford 100, Libby 47; van der Gugten 3-28

Glamorgan 196-4 (19.4 overs): Selman 78, Lloyd 56

Glamorgan (2 pts) won by 6 wickets

Glamorgan beat Worcestershire by six wickets with two balls to spare in a thrilling run-feast at New Road.

The visitors reached 196-4 thanks to 78 off 53 balls from Nick Selman and 56 off 38 from David Lloyd.

Dan Douthwaite clubbed three sixes in the last over to seal an improbable victory.

Earlier New Zealander Hamish Rutherford hit 100 off 62 balls - including 11 fours and four sixes - in Worcestershire's 190-3.

He shared a century stand with Jake Libby (47 off 26), with Timm van der Gugten (3-28) proving the afternoon's most successful bowler.

Chasing down Worcestershire's total looked a tall order for Glamorgan, but Selman showed a new side to his skills with a career-best as he matched the aggressive hitting of Lloyd in a stand of 120 inside 13 overs.

The required run-rate rose in the closing stages before Douthwaite's unbeaten 23 off six balls carried his team home.

Glamorgan finished the T20 Blast with nine points, still fifth in the group despite two wins to end their campaign, with Worcestershire on five points.

Glamorgan batsman Nick Selman told 成人快手 Sport Wales:

"It was good to get a few and get the boys over the line, as a team we were pretty pugnacious and to get the boys into the winter with a win is great.

"It's been frustrating not playing consistently (in T20), I think it's one of my better formats so good to prove I can play this format for the future.

"There's no doubt we've got things to work on in all formats, we played some pretty good cricket in the white-ball through our fielding needs to improve.

"In red-ball we weren't consistent enough, our skills weren't up to it but we've got a lot of talent in our squad. There's no doubt though that next year we can be competitive in all three formats.

Glamorgan's Dan Douthwaite added:

"It was a weird last over, I wasn't feeling as nervous as I usually would because there would have been a lot more on it if we or Worcestershire could have qualified.

"To hit three sixes in the last over gives me a bit to work with and learn from- when I go into things less nervous and with a clearer mind, they tend to come off a lot better for me."

Worcestershire coach Alex Gidman told 成人快手 Hereford & Worcester:

"I'm really disappointed with that after we got 190 on the board, even though it was a good wicket, a gutting way to end the season.

"Hamish played really well, he's finished the competition really well and when someone gets a hundred in T20 cricket, it's a real tough one for him to finish on the losing side.

"This season has highlighted a few areas where we're weaker than we thought we might be, certain areas of the game we haven't done well at in this competition, where we have done well with a full-strength team in the last couple of years.

"But we've exposed a few cricketers to this competition that haven't played it much so it's been a huge learning curve for me and those players. We've played a lot of good cricket but haven't put complete performances together."
