Brad Pauls says he is open to a third British middleweight title fight with Nathan Heaney.

Pauls stopped Heaney in the 12th round of their fight in Birmingham on Saturday to become the first fighter from Cornwall to win a Lonsdale belt for 85 years.

The bout was a rematch after the pair drew their first encounter in March.

"It's something my team's looking at," Pauls said, when asked if there could be another bout between the pair.

"But, for me, there's many doors opening now. The power's with me.

"But, like Nathan did for me, he honoured the rematch and he's asked for the same. I'll do the same if that's what he wants.

"If not, it could be another British defence against another domestic fighter, or, beating that, it could be a world title shot with my other belt the WBA inter-continental. So there's many options."

Pauls wants to leave Cornish boxing legacy

Brad Pauls' 12th round stoppage of Nathan Heaney ensured a first British boxing title for a Cornish fighter since 1939

Heaney was ranked fifth in the world by the World Boxing Association prior to his loss to Pauls.

For the Cornish fighter it meant he was the first boxer from the county to win a British title since Len Harvey won the light-heavyweight belt shortly before the outbreak of World War Two.

"I boxed in Cornwall from the age of 10 to 18," Pauls told 成人快手 Radio Cornwall.

"I didn't know a pro, or knew someone who even knew a pro, there weren't any Cornish professional champions and now there's a little path for someone to see it can be done.

"It's not easy and if I can leave something a little bit better than when I started then fair play.

"I want to come back and coach here one day and hopefully bring the next set of Cornish champions through."
