Scottish International Open: World's top two exit as holder Stewart Anderson reaches semi-finals
- Published
Stewart Anderson stayed on course to retain the Scottish International Open title as the world's top two failed to reach the semi-finals in Livingston.
England's Les Gillett knocked out current number one Paul Foster 7-5 3-13 2-1 in the last 16 as he bids to overtake the Scot in the rankings.
But Gillett then lost 11-5 8-7 to compatriot Jamie Walker.
The English world No.10 will take on Jason Banks, the Scot he beat to lift this year's World Indoor Bowls title.
Two other Scots - Anderson and Darren Burnett - face one another in the other semi-final.
Anderson, the current world number three, edged compatriot and fellow former world champion David Gourlay 8-4 5-6 2-1 in his quarter-final.
Banks defeated former world champion Mark Dawes of England 9-3 10-6.
In a battle of two former world champions, Burnett edged out England's Greg Harlow 10-11 10-3 2-1.
