It was a valiant effort from the Championship side who had already seen off Premiership side Motherwell in the previous round.
They managed to keep Hearts at bay for most of the match and even created chances of their own and looked to threaten the visitors, with Craig Gordon called into action on numerous occasions.
Ultimately the lack of depth in Dougie Imrie鈥檚 squad took it鈥檚 toll and the quality of Hearts鈥 attackers shone through.
The Hearts side that turned up at Cappielow was a far cry from the side who put two past Celtic last weekend.
Steven Naismith鈥檚 side looked off the pace for the majority of the game and it wasn鈥檛 until the game started to wear on Morton that Hearts managed to get on the front foot.
All that鈥檒l matter for the Edinburgh side is that they鈥檝e booked their spot at Hampden for the semi-final but they certainly didn鈥檛 make it easy for themselves.
