My
campaign began when I wrote a poem on the subject
of dog mess - it won me a Peak Potential Millennium award. I'm planning
to distribute a shorter version of the poem on postcards in my local
area.
There's a
solution to this pollution - the poop-scoop!

Now
I'm rehearsing a show with music featuring my puppet, Lady Soozie
the Dog, which I'm taking to local schools etc, in order to drive
home my message: "A solution to this pollution - the poop-scoop!"
Much
has to be done in this fight, and it will be achieved in an innovative
and amusing way to promote good practice among ourselves, and ensure
better health in the process. I hope people will back this campaign,
as the more support gained, the more action can be taken now!

Scooping
up the unmentionable
I
put my foot in it today,
along with hundreds of others.
Anyway, nobody bothers.
I put my foot in it today
in what?
In a repugnant mess, dog mess
where?
On the streets, on the sidewalks,
on the footpaths, in the parks
in towns, in cities, in the country,
in fact, everywhere.
The subject is taboo, it's pooh-poohed.
Just turn up one's nose in disgust
hoping one will not again experience it.
One dares not even mention it
A topic well and truly pooh-poohed
Blame not the pet
irresponsible owners, I bet.
A solution to this pollution: the poop-scoop
Fresher air, cleaner environment
must be our commitment
to the next generation
who deserve our affection.
Because they copy us adults
so we are guaranteed results.
