| Contact rocking out on stage at Rockfest 2005 |
We had been good friends for a while and just decided that making up a band might be fun... so we did. How would you describe your music? A rock act with our eyes fixed firmly into a baroque world of distortion, emotion and guitar harmonics. How did the band gets its name? We used to be called Allied Spirits, but after much discussion we changed it to Contact which is the name of one of our songs. Who are your musical influences? The style of our music has been influenced by Radiohead and Muse, but we have also taken influence from classical music and combined it with rock to make our own new style. What is your most memorable gig so far?
| Contact would love to play at Glasto |
Our most memorable gig has to be Rockfest 2005 at Richard Huish College where we played to our biggest crowd yet. Although the overall experience was very good, and the band was received well, the sound levels were a bit dodgy as the guitar was too quiet. Where would you most like to play? We would most like to play at Glastonbury because we have all grown up in the local area. After visiting the festival a few times, we have found that the atmosphere is amazing. It would be a fantastic opportunity to get a gig there! Finally, tell us some interesting facts about yourself We used to be called Allied Spirits, but after a while it came to us that it sounded much like Allied Carpets, so we changed it! - You can listen to some tracks by Contact, as well as listening to their set from Live Music Friday on the Jo Phillips show on 成人快手 Somerset Sound, by clicking on the audio links at the top of this page. - You can also check out some photos of Contact at Rockfest 2005, as well as listen to an interview with the band - again, the links are at the top of this page. |
