Shrewsbury's new theatre is starting to take shape in Frankwell and anyone who regularly drives across the Welsh Bridge will have followed its progress with interest. It's hard to miss and it seems to be dividing opinion.
Some people are saying it's great for the town and are really impressed by what they've seen so far. But others are shocked by the size of it and are worried about how it's going to fit in with the rest of the town. Shrewsbury theatre - photo by Steve Woodman It's six months since work started on the 拢28m building. When the theatre's finished, at the end of 2008, it will boast a 650 seater auditorium - twice as large as the capacity in the existing Music Hall. There are some people who feel it's just too big for the site... while others are hoping Shrewsbury's new theatre will prove a massive boost for trade in the town. last updated: 29/07/2008 at 16:25 Have Your SayWhat do you think about the new theatre? Is it an exciting cultural asset or an eye-sore?
