Music has always been Marie's number one interest, learning to play the violin and clarinet from an early age. Now she presents the Country Programme on ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Radio Shropshire every Monday night from 7.00 to 9.00pm. Marie listened to lots of different music before falling for country in the mid 90s. It was definitely not cool to be a teenager and into country music, but she was happy to be different. At University Marie gained a Law degree. She might have got away with wearing the cowboy boots in court, but the spurs were definitely out. Luckily they fit right in with the music. Today her favourite artists are strong vocalists like Reba McEntire, Lorrie Morgan and Tanya Tucker and harmony groups like the Judds and Sweethearts of the Rodeo. Attending music concerts also goes with the job; the more intimate the venue the better. In her spare time Marie is a Beaver Scout leader, a regular at the theatre - especially when there's a murder mystery on the bill.
And just to make sure the hat doesn't go to waste – Marie is a keen line-dancer. last updated: 16/06/2009 at 11:35 SEE ALSOYou are in: Shropshire > Radio Shropshire > Presenters > Marie Crichton |
