Finally!

It got here..snow...lots of it, whether it`ll lie or not I dinnae ken, cos it`s awful windy out there. But for now it`s a pretty sight, blizzarding out of the skies like that, laying the barest covering ower the fields and track.
The winds have done some damage though, most notable for me being the loss of a chicken hutch, a substantial one it was too, which is now in bits strewn over a couple of fields, and which I can`t retrieve til the winds drop.
It`s a pity, for I won`t be able to fix it, and it was the one the geese used to nest in.
It really is wrecked now though.
Oh, but it is such a bonny sight, that snow dusting the island.......I hope we get mair.....

Well, at least I have your photos to look at Hermit. Down here it's another early spring day. We've not had one drop of "interesting"weather all flippin' winter.

I don't see why you (Fair Isles and others) don't use stones for your outdoor structures. Judging by those walls that stretch for miles, there are more than enough of those in Burns country. In the meantime, just eat the surviving homeless critters.

well ... we got a day off on friday, as did you guys, then the bad forecast didna come, but on Saturday we had a fair sprinkling of snow. And it was very VERY cold. not quite enough snow to sledge, but on Saturday night we looked out at midnight, there was about 4 inches in the garden, and it was crisp and even - very like a Chrstmas card. We were looking forward to a sledging session on sunday (we being 2 forty somethings) and when we woke up on Sunday - there wasn't a drop of snow left - not a DROP. It has completely vanished. Not a tiny speck in any corner of the garden or any awkward corner, nothing. How can snow disappear so fast? we were very concerned in case we had overslept and missed a day somewhere, but no, it was definately sunday. WHAT a disappointment!!
