I'm with you on this Hermit Life. Same sorta problem, so I'm off on to Ebay to see if I can find one of those belly dance DVD's and I will give it a go. Looking more like a Christmas pudding these days than a Christmas Cracker. tee hee. Right I'm off to get me one of those DVD's right now.
Squidgy the Otter from Bellydancers united
Hi again, I have found a DVD entitled Cara's belly dancing for beginners, am I on the right track. Perhaps I should put it on my Santa's Wish List and send it to TWS. He is getting us all presents and gifts right now!!

Good for you, Hermit. Belly dancing: very soon it will be the signature dance of female ibloggers. And you will be the cause of it all!!

Oi Hermit, I thought you were a heathen.
Tws from The Pearly Gates
well, Hermit - we here in shetland can as usual go one better - we have belly dancin classes - and yes, they do work! its energetic and fun. we got those jingly jangly scarves you tie round your waist - available from Amazon. the best thing about it is that the belly dancin teacher has a belly too.you need one to dance properly. or so we believe.

Ah 'gwon, admit it - you just want a pretty, glittery frock. ;-)

TWS, I AM heathen....didn`t say WHAT god I was referring to, did I?;-) Scallowawife, I want one of those scarves, thanks for telling me where to get one! :-) Squidgy, I think you might have the same dvd I got..has bellydancing twins on it? Great fun. Ellie..I admit it...I want one of those frocks, with all the jingly glittery bits on it. Then I`m gonna paint my eyes like Cleopatra :-D mjc, well, if the IB fellas are planning a nudie calendar, maybe we girls could do a bellydance one....
Hermit from Sanday
I can belly dance. Honestly I can! Just slap me on the bum and be belly will jigger away for hours!
Salty from Round world
Tws might be purrsuaded to photograph the abdominal gels, capturing their every movement with quick clicks of his digicam...provided they followed the rules of modesty of course. We couldn't have a calendar with it all hingin oot, now could we?
Flying Cat from Peat's sake!
Count me in as the impresario (no, Hermit, I did not say Lothario).

No pain, no gain is what they say. I went running a few weeks ago and I'm ashamed to say that I've not been back since. January will no doubt see another burst of resolutions to get fit. Belly dancing sounds a lot more fun.
Carol from IBHQ
I think running is peculiarly masochistic.
Flying Cat from but then...so is running ib...
The Peat Calendar: they all look so WHITE!! Is that the usual color of the guys in Lewis? (kidding) # What I want to know is why one of the guys (November) is fully clothed.

My Gawd! I never gave belly dancing a thought! For a while I tried starving ... didn't work. Another time I tried a bread diet ... didn't work. So now, I run up and down stairs [at work] and that tones those fallen buttocks ... doesn't quite bring them back to what they were at 20, but. Neva mind ... stay happy! Merry Christmas [ and be willing to let a few kilos add to the waistline over the festive season ... tis what happens!
Plaid from Outback Oz
Sounds like fun, but aren't we too deep into December to be exposing and shaking our bellies around? Body Rolling is my latest discovery and I recommend it to all curious and adventurous spirits seeking to recover the fitness, grace and ease of younger days. It's easy, painless and it works! Love your blog!
