Centaurea. Some call it perennial cornflower but it isn't really. I think it's a knapweed relative. Is it really as pale as that, barebraes? We have blue and pinkish here in rolling acres.

In Image No. 6 are you and your Mr B, both stoned? If so what exactly are you growing?

Yes Fc they are very nearly white, and thanks for feeding my curiosity I knew you would come up with the goods, Stoned !! The only strange substance round here is my cooking

Thanks for the pics. Barebraes. Do you just bushwhack/strim around each tree, or do you need to go and bushhog/mow between the tree line? Did most of the plantings survive? Did the hybrid ones (willows, were they not?) do better than the "native" plantings?

Well hello mjc nice to hear from you again, Mrs Odinstone mentioned that you said Hi. Most of the trees survived although some are doing better than others We strim and mow although mowing is difficult due to the bumpy ground. The willows have a better sucess rate and a better harvesting quality than the natives. Hope the daughter enjoyed the hamper :)

I noticed the dry stone wall too. Did not utter a peep. I was too jealous. You are much more forthcoming than I am, IT!! Having such a dry stone wall would be a dream come true. # And the rhubarb plant looks pretty healthy too!

Made any rhubarb pie, Barebraes. Does Sansom the Hulk wear a hat when he goes out in the Shapinsay summer sun? Serves three purposes: apart from looking dashing, it prevents skin damage/melanomas and such, and, so I have been told by the Mad Hatter, there is the greenhouse effect - makes the grass grow faster, stronger, longer. Anyway, you are neglecting your blog. Oh, do you folks have a vegetable garden, and what goodies do you grow in there?
