It is great that the Shapinsay - Grindar schools did so well, with the help of BT and Learning and Teaching Scotland (LTS), to achieve an excellent show. And great that Mr and Mrs B enjoyed it in Shapinsay! I was one of those disappointed not to get to Shapinsay to see the show live, but I was luckily able to watch from Kirkwall Grammar School, via the same Marratech video conferencing and collaboration technology used to link the 2 schools, and several of the teachers involved in that school who are involved in the national Glow intranet project (www.glowscotland.org.uk) watched with me. LTS staff also watched in the same way from Glasgow and Aberdeenshire, and they managed to record the show using the Marratech software, so we may see it soon on the LTS website! I thought everyone did really well - especially since at least 3 teachers from the Orkney mainland who were to have operated cameras, lights and computers couldn't get to Shapinsay either: the remaining school staff did very well to get the equipment working, and to operate it. It was a great day - and shows what can be done using equipment and software that will soon be available to all schools in Scotland.

I was unaware that the technical team were unable to get to the venue which makes the effort put in by the school staff a great acheivement. Look forward to being able to view the performance again if it appears on the LTS web.
