Strange stones

Whilst renovating our house we found a strange stone buried in the floor. Does anyone know what it might be ?

Well scallowawife we obviously have good taste in table mats. Perhaps the stone is meant to spread the word about table mats !!!!!!!!!!!!

well mjc because I;m of the female species I can only imagine how draughty it could be. Perhaps alright if you rub goose grease on your chest to ward off the influenza.

Pop out to Warebeth on a breezy day and you may just spy a very competent watercolourist wearing a Flying Kilt to great effect..........wa-hey, the old ones are the best, scallowawife!

some believe that burying something significant under a stone brings luck. Are you sure there was nothing underneath it? Was it buried with salt? (You may have to taste it.)
