Television

At the beginning of the sixties there were only two television channels - 成人快手 1 and ITV - and they were broadcast in black and white. In 1964 another channel was launched - 成人快手 2.

Then, in 1967, colour television arrived. At first it was very expensive. But as time went on television sets dropped in price, allowing more and more people to buy them.

Sandy talks about how television took over Scotland.

But not everyone was happy with the growth of television. Some people worried that TV was becoming too popular and that people were watching too much telly. Some people blamed TV for rising rates in crime. Others said that it was having a damaging effect on the young.

These are all arguments which we still hear today.
