For the first time ever, this year's ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Edinburgh Festival benefited from combining a wide array of talents under one roof for all its Fringe activities. , near Bristo Square was the base of the ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ's activities from Friday 12 to Saturday 27 August. You can catch up with some of the highlights of our coverage below.

BOOK FESTIVAL: 'THE KID' by SAPPHIRE

New York author Sapphire has brought her new book to this year's festival. It follows on from her hard-hitting first novel 'Push' which was made into the Oscar-winning film 'Precious'. Fourteen years on, 'The Kid' continues with the extremely dark, violent story of orphan Abdul. In this clip, Sapphire speaks at length with Kirsty Wark about the novel's abused, and abusive, central character. FInd out what the panelists think of 'The Kid' on The Review Show, Friday 26th August at 11pm. We asked Jon Oliver from the Daily Show to give us his view on how satirists and comedians have adapted to Obama's Presidency. Antonia Fraser's memoir of life with the late Harold Pinter is full of recollections of how the playwright thought and wrote about life and death. Kirsty Wark went to meet her.
