Tonight:
By popular demand, we are returning to our opposites theme from last week. If you want to take part then choose two tracks with contrasting meanings and e-mail them to me. Last week some of the pairings were Eight Miles High and Going Underground, Stand and Sit Down, Stone Cold Sober and Wide-Eyed And Legless, and River Deep-Mountain High, which of course is opposites within the same song.

Tues:
Julie in Edinburgh has suggested the seven deadly sins as the theme for tonight, so I'm looking looking for tracks about lust, gluttony, greed, sloth, wrath, envy and pride...

Wed:

Thurs:
We always get more requests than we can can actually play on air, so tonight I thought we would have a catch-up night for all the tracks that I have not had time to play - well at at least twelve of them. If there’s a record you haven’t heard in years them get in touch...

I reckon you'll get another few shows with the Opposites theme. I was thinking how it would be great to hear the Velvet Underground's 'Sunday Morning', but then realised that you'd have to also play Whigfield's 'Saturday Night'.

missed the show last nite Mon 1st, which left me rather sad so looked up the blog and heres a few thouhts for tonights show, i want you-bob dylan, young lust-pink floyd, jealous guy-roxy music, love and pride-king, pride-u2 and one of my favorites from the mission-the grapes of wrath, i'm working 2nite and hope i can tune into the show, cheers i think you should press for two hours shows not long enough!!!

"Constant Craving" by KD Lang for lust, "Too Much" by Bros for greed/gluttony, "The Goonies 'R' Good Enough" by Cyndi Lauper as that film had Sloth in it (!), "Jealous Mind" by Alvin Stardust for envy and the Scottish Italia '90 song "Say It With Pride".

Graham, good suggestions for tonight. I'm going to go and try and find The Mission. It's must be at least ten years since I've heard them. They are still together and according to their website are celebrating their 21st anniversary this year. (www.themissionuk.com). Cheers for your comments, I have been lobbying the big boss for more time and he has been showing interest. All you comments help.

Yep, "Constant Craving" by k d lang is a great song for Lust...also "Sin of PRIDE" by The Undertones, "Eat the Menu" by The Sugercubes for Gluttony, Andrea True Connection's "More More More" for Greed, "Do Nothing" by The Specials for Sloth, "Prelude/Angry Young Man" - Billy Joel for Wrath and my personal favourite for this theme (so long as Constant Craving gets an airing too, or is that just me being greedy?)..."The Other Man's Grass Is Always Greener" by Petula Clark for Envy.
