After 8 years there, Jane accepts a position as governess to Adele, the ward of the mysterious Mr Rochester. Rochester, drawn to her intellect,听proposes to Jane. On their wedding day, the truth about Rochester's first wife emerges. She has gone mad and Rochester has imprisoned her on the third floor of his home, Thornfield.
