Does it really have a lot to offer?
In a few weeks' time听thousands of students听will begin their first term at university. Are their听expectations for their courses and university experience what they should be?
And are universities offering enough support and consideration for newly arrived students, and are they going to have to change now that students are contributing more towards their fees?听 Or is it that students no longer know how to get the most out of a course where they're asked to think for themselves?
Jenni discusses the issues and whether schools could do more to prepare students for independent study听with Ben Knights Director of the English Subject Centre at Royal Holloway, the president of the NUS, Kat Fletcher and Catherine Wolfenden, a graduate听in English at Bristol University.
