The Liberal Democrats have just six women among their听fifty-four听MPs.
What steps should they take to increase their numbers?
Proportionally the number of听women Liberal Democrat MPs听is only marginally higher than the Conservatives, and far behind Labour. But should they accept positive discrimination, and introduce formal mechanisms to select more women for winnable seats?听Or is that,听as some party members argue, a fundamentally illiberal proposal?听
