Abigail Hopkins first picked up a guitar aged seven and was soon composing songs in her head. But although music played a big part in her childhood she later decided (at the grand age of twelve) to become an actress.
She had roles in Shadowlands and Remains of the Day alongside her father Sir Anthony and developed a talent for different voices. But her love of music remained and she's just released her first CD, Smile Road.
Abigail talks to Martha about her work and why the subject of the title track is not quite as free and easy as the name suggests.
