It's October - the month of the apple harvest - and apples are plentiful. But even so it can be hard to find English apples or older varieties in our shops.
One woman in Yorkshire is doing her bit to encourage the old species to keep going. When Tango Fawcett married a farmer and moved into his family farm near Tadcaster she found she was mistress of her very own ancient orchard.
Although the orchard had been neglected for years, under Tango's care the old apple trees are enjoying a new lease of life.
Lesley Hilton went to meet Tango and her two sons, three year old Felix and four year old Freddie, to find out more about the old orchard.
