This week Woman's Hour managed to tunnel out of Broadcasting House to present a special edition of the programme from the Hampton Court Palace Flower Show in front of an audience. The theme was Passion and the Garden and it was explored in many different ways - visiting a prize winning Garden for Modern Lovers made of concrete and insulation blocks, hearing about adventures of plant hunting in South Africa and, in this discussion about how the garden has inspired writers for centuries.
Martha was joined by Sarah Maguire who's compiled the anthology Flora Poetica after her residence at the Chelsea Physic garden, and by John Mullan a lecturer at University College London. Where did it all begin?
