The swimsuit has only been around since 1840 but in the last 163 years the size, shape, materials used and etiquette surrounding this intimate yet public fashion item has changed enormously.

The earliest piece of unisex clothing has developed into a multi million pound industry - and today, we find out how.
Anne Wise, Curator of Costume and Textiles at Worthing Museum and Julia Robson, Deputy Fashion Editor at the Daily Telegraph join Jenni to discuss the role of this fashion item over the years.
